My toddler refuses to play outside because they hate getting dirty—what can I do?

Every time I try to take my toddler outside to play, they immediately complain about getting dirty. They’re not keen on running around, and even small things like grass or mud seem to bother them. I want them to enjoy the outdoors but don’t know how to help them overcome their aversion to dirt. Any suggestions for outdoor games that don’t involve getting too messy?
